Since 2006, Evan’s focus has been on moving US associates, counsel and partners to and within Asia. Evan has represented and advised the majority of the recently-promoted or entry-level lateral US partner hires at top-tier US firms in Hong Kong and mainland China.
For example, Evan has placed (including at their current firms) partners at numerous top US and UK firms in Hong Kong / China, including, for example, eight current partners at Latham & Watkins. Evan is a regular participant in Harvard Law School’s “Ask the Experts” program as their expert on the Asia markets. He regularly advises JD programs and their law students on their potential Asia careers.
Evan is very well connected at major US and UK firms throughout Asia and regularly meets with senior management, as he is widely regarded as a key go-to source of market information. He has helped a number of firms build new practice groups and offices in Asia, as well as develop and refine their expat / COLA benefits packages.
Outside of Asia, Evan has placed attorneys in London, Dubai, Moscow, Sydney, Frankfurt and the following states: California, New York, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Colorado, Louisiana, Washington, DC, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Prior to starting his recruiting career in 2003, Evan was an associate at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft’s New York offices. He later served as global general counsel for an international garment manufacturing company based in Miami with a number of factories in Russia and Ukraine and over 3,000 employees.
Evan received his JD from Boston University School of Law and completed part of his law degree abroad at Oxford. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and is a former US Marine, where he served as a Russian Linguist.
